STORYLINES

• The No. 15 Maryland men's basketball team looks to win its fifth straight game as it hosts Rutgers Tuesday at 7:00 pm on Fox Sports 1. The Terps are a perfect 12-0 at home this season, winning by an average margin of 16.3 points. Overall, Maryland has won 13 straight home games.

• Maryland has won all seven meetings against Rutgers since both schools joined the Big Ten in 2014-15. All but one game (first Big Ten meeting) have been decided by 10 points or more, including the Terps' 77-63 victory in Piscataway last year when Jalen Smith had a game-high 16 points.

• All-American candidate Jalen Smith is on absolute tear over his last five games, averaging 21.6 points (.617 FG), 11.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocks. Smith is also shooting 48-percent from 3-point range and 83-percent from the charity stripe during that span. Smith is tied for the Big Ten lead in double-doubles (12), including four straight, and ranks third in blocks (2.3/g).

• All-American candidate Anthony Cowan Jr. was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Feb. 3 for his career-best 31-point, six rebound and six assist outburst in the Terps' 82-72 win over then-No. 18 Iowa. It was the first such stat line since Greivis Vasquez had 41/7/6 at Virginia Tech in 2010.

• The Terps checked in at No. 11 in the latest edition of the NET rankings. Seven of Maryland's final 10 games are against quad 1 opponents. Maryland also ranks 10th according to KenPom, featuring the ninth-best defensive efficiency in the country and top in the Big Ten.

• Maryland turned the ball over just 21 times over the last two games (7.0/g), including five at Indiana. The success is due in large part to ball handlers Anthony Cowan Jr. and Eric Ayala, who have combined for 29 assists and just five turnovers in the last three games.

• Senior Anthony Cowan Jr. has scored at least 16 points in 12 of his last 17 games and currently leads the Big Ten in free throws made (107). He is the first Terp to record multiple 30-point games in a season since Terrell Stoglin had four in 2011-12.

Anthony Cowan Jr. (1716) needs 18 points to pass Terrence Morris (1733) for 11th on Maryland's all-time scoring list. Cowan (528 asts) recently passed Terp legend John Lucas (1972-76) for fifth on Maryland's all-time assists list. He is also second all-time in free throws made (514). Cowan is one of two players in Maryland history to record 1,700 points and 520 assists (Greivis Vasquez).
