Terps to Play Five at the Cherry Blossom Classic

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland softball team will travel an hour away to George Mason for the Cherry Blossom Classic to face off against Georgetown, Monmouth and George Mason. The Terps are coming off its third consecutive weekend with three or more wins, having gone 4-1 at the Panther Invitational at Florida International.

Freshman Trinity Schlotterbeck went 3-0 and recorded one save while harboring a 0.97 ERA on the weekend. Schlotterbeck earned Big Ten Co-Freshman of the week honors, the first freshman weekly honor for a Maryland softball player since joining the Big Ten.

PANTHER INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

• Maryland improved to 12-11 on the season.

• The Terps outhit (35-23) and outscored (24-10) their opponents.
• Maryland defeated Samford via run rule, 11-3

• Regan Kerr, Anna Kufta, and Campbell Kline all batted .500 on the weekend.

• Kufta batted 7-for-14, hit two doubles on the weekend bringing her to .643 slugging percentage, with four RBIs, and one scored run. Overall Kufta leads the Terps with a .424 average and .494 slugging percentage. She surpassed 100 RBIs in her career in the tournament.

• Kerr went 8-for-16 at the plate, scored five runs, recorded four RBIs and went 3-4 in stolen base attempts on the weekend. She leads the Terps with 13 stolen bases on the season.

• Kline connected on 6-of-12 hits at the plate, and scored runs runs on the weekend. She jumps to number four overall on the season with a .306 average
