Terrapins to Face Hoosiers in Big Ten Semifinals

INDIANAPOLIS -- Top-seeded Maryland (26-4) will play fourth-seeded Indiana (24-7) Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the Semifinals at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Terrapins have advanced to the Semifinals in all six years they've been in the league.
 
The Terps' game Saturday will be televised on the Big Ten Network. Fans can watch on the Fox Sports app or FoxSports.com using their cable login information.
 
The winner of Saturday's game will advance to Sunday's Big Ten Tournament championship at 6 p.m. Michigan (21-20) and Ohio State (20-11) will meet Saturday in the second semifinal. For more on the Big Ten Tournament, click here.
 
Saturday's matchup is the 10th all-time between No. 6 Maryland and No. 20 Indiana, with the Terrapins winning all nine previous matchups. The Terps took both regular season matchups this year - 76-62 in College Park on Jan. 20 and 79-69 in Bloomington on Feb. 6.
 
Maryland is 14-2 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament after winning the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Tournament titles. The Terps are 11-2 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and head coach Brenda Frese is 14-3 in the Tournament.
 
Maryland has won 15 straight games since Jan. 12. The Terrapins have 12 wins over RPI top 50 teams and six over teams ranked in the AP Top 25. In the win streak, the Terps are winning by an average margin of victory of +26.5.
 
The Terps beat Purdue, 74-62, Friday in the Big Ten Quarterfinals. Taylor Mikesell hit six threes for 22 points to lead the way. Stephanie Jones added 14 points with 13 boards, Shakira Austin scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Ashley Owusu scored 15 points with 10 rebounds.
 
The trio of Charles, Jones and Watson have earned a record of 112-20 (.849) in their four-year careers. They helped win the 2017 Big Ten regular season and tournament titles and the 2019, 2020 Big Ten regular season titles. They have made three straight NCAA Tournament appearances to date and advanced to the 2017 Sweet Sixteen. Vujacic, a junior college transfer, has been a part of 55 wins.
