Each week during the spring, umterps.com will profile a different member of the Maryland women's soccer team leading up to the 2020 season. This week we'll get to know Katie Krotee from The Woodlands, Texas, who will embark on her junior season with the Terps in 2020.

What was your favorite moment from last season?

Beating Michigan State to become the first UMD women's soccer team to make the B1G tournament.

What are your goals for next season?

To stay healthy & host the first round of the B1G tournament.

What attracted you to the University of Maryland?

I knew I wanted to go to school far away from home and experience a new part of the country. Maryland also offered great academics & athletics so it was perfect for me.

If you could play another sport at Maryland what would it be?

Volleyball because it is the only other sport I played growing up.

What is your favorite memory from playing soccer? 

Club soccer road trips with my dad. We spent a lot of weekends in the car together, but it was fun!

Favorite class you've taken at Maryland so far?

I took a history of soccer class in the fall, which was pretty fun. We learned about all the well known players and national teams. It didn't really feel like school for me.

Are you a good cook, what's your favorite thing to make?

I'm a good cook sometimes when I follow a recipe. I haven't really been cooking at home, but I make some pretty good stove top oatmeal if that counts.

What is your favorite thing about yourself?

I think I am pretty self disciplined. I'm good about getting things done and don't procrastinate too much.

What is the best vacation you have ever been on?

My junior year of high school my family was supposed to go to the Caymans for spring break. We realized the night before that some of our passports were expired so we couldn't go. Really last minute my dad switched our trip and the next day we were in Maui. It wasn't our first time in Hawaii, but it was really spontaneous which made it so fun!

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?

United airline miles so could go anywhere I want without paying for flights.
