COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Four members of Maryland's incoming freshmen class were named 2020 Under Armour Senior All-Americans in a release made by Corrigan Sports Enterprise and Inside Lacrosse this week.
Gabriel Goforth (Bishop Shanahan), Daniel Kelly (Calvert Hall), Jack Koras (Loyola Blakefield) and Eric Malever (Woodward Academy) all garnered All-America honors as members of the South team.
During a typical year, the quartet of incoming Terps would have competed at the annual All-Under Armour American game originally scheduled for July 11 at Homewood Field. However, the game was cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Goforth, a midfielder from Chester Sprngs, Pa., is the No. 44 overall recruit in the class in the class of 2020 via Inside Lacrosse. He helped Bishop Shanahan to the 2019 State Championship, and was a two-time All-State and All-League selection.
Kelly was a late addition to the Terps' incoming 2020 class this spring when he signed his National Letter of Intent, joining Maryland as the No. 11 overall recruit in the country. The attackman helped Calvert Hall to three MIAA Championships during his high school career, including a 17-1 record in 2019 when the program captured its third straight MIAA title.
Koras, a midfielder from Lutherville, Md., was tabbed as the No. 18 overall recruit in the 2020 class via Inside Lacrosse. He was a 2019 US Lacrosse All-American and First team all-state selection, and a two-time All-MIAA honoree.
Eric Malever, an attackman from Atlanta, Ga., was ranked fourth overall in the class of 2020 via Inside Lacrosse. He was a two-time US Lacrosse All-American and three-time All-State selection at Woodward Academy and a First Team USA Today Preseason All-American. Before garnering Under Armour All-America honors in 2020, Malevar was a four-time Under Armour All-American underclassmen participant.
