Wierman, Larkin Named to U.S. Men’s National Team for Inaugural Pan-American Championship

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Former Maryland men's lacrosse standouts Luke Wierman and AJ Larkin were named to the U.S. Men's National Team roster last week, as the pair will represent the United States at the inaugural Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship Aug. 16-23 in Kingston, Jamaica.
The 22-player roster was selected by U.S. Men's National Team head coach Seth Tierney. The Pan-American Championship will serve as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Japan.
Wierman, who currently plays for the Denver Outlaws in the Premier Lacrosse League, has continued to establish himself as one of the league's top faceoff specialists. The former Terp ranks among the top six faceoff specialists in the PLL this season with a 52.3 percent faceoff winning percentage.
Larkin joins Wierman on the U.S. roster following a standout senior season in College Park. The long pole earned 2026 USILA Second Team All-America and First Team All-Big Ten honors after playing in all 13 games for the Terps. Larkin led Maryland's defense with 40 ground balls and added eight caused turnovers, while his seven goals were the most by a Maryland long pole in a single season since 2012. He was also named a 2026 USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American honorable mention.
The United States will compete in Pool B alongside Colombia, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. The U.S. will open pool play against Puerto Rico on Aug. 18 before facing Jamaica on Aug. 19 and Colombia on Aug. 21. The medal round is set for Aug. 23.
