What's UP
- Maryland used a second half surge to win at Minnesota, 90-73, Thursday night. Diamond Miller led the way with 23 points, Chloe Bibby added 22 and nine boards and Katie Benzan scored 20. Ashley Owusu chipped in 11 points and eight assists. Maryland led 50-43 at half, then outscored the Gophers 26-14 in the third quarter to build its lead.
- Owusu was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week honor roll for the second straight week. She was also named the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Player of the Week after leading the Terps to three wins - two over Top 25 teams. She averaged 19.7 points, 6.7 assists and 6.0 rebounds in the three games.
- The Terrapins are averaging 93.7 points per game through 11 games, which is second in the country to New Mexico, which is averaging 95.4. The NCAA Division I scoring record is 96.7 points per game by Providence in 1991. Maryland's team scoring record was 89.6 points per game by the 1977-78 team. No other team in program history averaged over 90 points per game.
- The Terrapins have won 23 straight games in Big Ten play, dating back to Jan. 12, 2020 when they won at No. 24 Michigan, 77-49.

- The University of Maryland women's basketball program will celebrate its 50th varsity season in 2020-21, and will honor the program's rich tradition and history throughout the year. Maryland played its first full varsity season in 1971-72, under the leadership of pioneer Dottie McKnight. During its storied history, the program has won 1,039 games, amassed 43 winning seasons, won 22 conference championships, made 37 postseason appearances and captured the 2006 National Championship

- Head coach Brenda Frese is in her 19th season in College Park. She's led the Terrapins to a record of 496-129 (.794), 12 conference titles, 15 NCAA Tournament appearances in 17 postseasons, three Final Fours, six Elite Eights, six Sweet Sixteens and the 2006 NCAA Championship.
- Frese is closing in on 500 wins at Maryland. With win No. 500, she will become the winningest coach in Maryland basketball history. Hall of Fame women's basketball head coach Chris Weller won 499 games in her 27 seasons (1975-02).
