MICHIGAN STORYLINES

HONORING DR. KING
  • Maryland players and coaches will be wearing shooting shirts featuring "MLK" on the front and "DREAM" on the back to honor MLK Day. Following the death of George Floyd over the summer, head coach Mark Turgeon and the Terps read Dr. King's book, "Why We Can't Wait," and had team discussions following each chapter to understand the history of injustices in the country.

ROAD WARRIORS
  • Maryland and Ohio State are the only schools in the Big Ten Conference to record two ranked road wins this season. It is the first time since 2003-04 that the Terps have picked up a pair of ranked road wins. Maryland is 4-1 in its last five road games against ranked teams dating back to 2018-19.

LAST TIME VS. MICHIGAN
  • In Maryland's meeting with Michigan on New Year's Eve earlier this season, Donta Scott scored 19 points and went 5-for-5 from beyond the arc - an XFINITY Center record. Darryl Morsell left the game at the end of the first half after taking an inadvertent elbow to the face resulting in a fracture. Morsell missed one game as a result and is currently playing with a mask.

WIGGINS FINDING HIS GROOVE
  • Junior Aaron Wiggins has caught fire recently, scoring at least 12 points in six of his last seven games. He is averaging 14.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists during that span. He had averaged just 9.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in the first six games of the season.

POUR IT IN
  • Maryland has featured an array of scoring options this season with four different players scoring at least 20 points in a game: Aaron Wiggins (2x), Eric Ayala, Donta Scott and Hakim Hart. Senior Darryl Morsell fell one point shy of the benchmark when he scored a career-best 19 points in Maryland's win at then-No. 12 Illinois.
