• This is Maryland's 33rd NCAA Tournament appearance. The Terps own a tournament record of 66-24 (.733), which is the highest winning percentage in tournament history. Under head coach Missy Meharg, Maryland owns a record of 62-23 (.729) in the NCAA Tournament.
• Maryland has won eight NCAA titles (1987, 1993, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011), seven with Meharg as head coach. The Terps have advanced to 20 Final Fours. They are 13-6 all-time in Final Four games.
• In their most recent Final Four appearance in 2018, the Terps beat No. 3 Princeton, 1-0, in overtime off a goal by Donraadt in the 78th minute. Maryland fell to No. 1 North Carolina, 2-0, in the NCAA final.
• Maryland topped No. 10 Syracuse, 2-1, Sunday in the NCAA Quarterfinals in College Park. Anna Castaldo put the Terps on the board first just under 3:00 into the second half. Syracuse tied it up early in the fourth quarter, then Bibi Donraadt scored 90 seconds later to seal the win.
• The Terrapins have a variety of weapons. Fourteen Terps have found the goal cage, led by Bibi Donraadt with 12 goals and seven assists this season. Hope Rose has nine goals and Emma DeBerdine has six.
• The Terps return 18 letterwinners from their 2020-21 squad, including All-Americans Brooke DeBerdine and Riley Donnelly. The Terps welcome five newcomers - Carly Hynd, Paige Kieft, Kylee Niswonger and US National Team players Julianna Tornetta and Hope Rose.
• Senior Riley Donnelly, junior Emma DeBerdine and freshman Hope Rose won bronze with the US Under-21 Team in the Junior Pan American Cup in Santiago, Chile in August. Rose was named MVP of the event.
• The Terrapins went 8-7 in the 2020 season (played in the spring of 2021). The Terps closed the regular season with a series sweep of No. 6 Rutgers.

• Fifth-year seniors Brooke DeBerdine and Julianna Tornetta and freshman Hope Rose of the Maryland field hockey squad were named to the Big Ten's Players to Watch List.
• All three Terrapins were named to the US National Team roster this summer, along with former Terps Linnea Gonzales, Kelee Lepage and Carrie Hanks.
• DeBerdine, who earned NFHCA All-America honors this past spring, was voted team captain for the second straight season. She also earned First Team All-Big Ten honors this past spring.
• Tornetta, a graduate transfer from Princeton, and Rose are newcomers to the Terrapins' roster. Tornetta earned NFHCA All-America honors at Princeton in the 2019 and 2018 seasons. She helped the Tigers to back-to-back Final Four appearances and an appearance in the national title game. She tallied 18 goals and 33 assists in her career as a Tiger.
• Rose, an incoming freshman from Dauphin, Pa., earned MAX Field Hockey All-America honors. She scored 233 career goals in her high school career.

• Fifth-year seniors Brooke DeBerdine and Kyler Greenwalt of the Maryland field hockey squad were voted team captain and vice captain, respectively, by their teammates for the fall 2021 season.
• DeBerdine, who earned NFHCA All-America honors this past spring, served as the team's captain for the spring 2021 season.
• Greenwalt earned back-to-back Big Ten Sportsmanship Awards in the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
   

• Voted National Coach of the Year an unprecedented nine times, head coach Missy Meharg has exemplified the tradition of excellence Maryland field hockey has become known for, a program with eight National Championships, 19 Final Fours and 26 conference championships - solidifying the Terrapins' position among the top programs in the nation.
• Now in her 34th season, Meharg has earned a record of 605-155-9 (.793). She has more wins than any coach at Maryland in any sport.

• Maryland is ranked No. 5 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches poll released Nov. 9. The Terrapins have been ranked in the top 5 in 195 of 240 polls, dating back to 1999 and every NFHCA Coaches poll, dating back to 1999.

• The Terps are 148-54-3 (.729) all-time against Big Ten opponents.
• Head coach Missy Meharg is 130-34-1 (.791) vs. Big Ten opponents in her 34 years at the helm of the Maryland field hockey program.
• Since joining the league in 2014, the Terps are 62-19 in conference play, including their 15 Big Ten Tournament games.
• The Terrapins are 53-8 (.869) vs. Big Ten teams at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

• Since its opening in 2003, the Terps are 201-25 (.889) all-time at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

• No. 9 Liberty is 19-2 overall. The Flames beat No. 11 Saint Joseph's, 2-0, in the NCAA First Round, then beat No. 1 Rutgers, 3-2, in a shootout in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
• Jill Bolton is leading Liberty with 18 goals this season.
• Maryland is 1-0 all-time vs. Liberty. The Terps took their only meeting, 4-1, in College Park on Oct. 8, 2017.
