COLLEGE PARK, MDÂ -Â The Maryland men's basketball team is set to face Louisville in the championship game of the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship Saturday morning in Nassau. This is the program's first trip to the Bahamas in its 103-year history.
Saturday's game will be broadcast on the Maryland Sports Radio Network and CBS Sports Network.Â

LOUISVILLE STORYLINES
HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT TROPHIES
- Maryland has a long history of success in preseason tournaments, collecting 32 championships and a 122-52 (.701) overall record.
- The Terrapins have participated in six tournaments since 2013-14, posting a 14-1 record and capturing five titles during that span. Maryland most recently won the Orlando Invitational in 2019-20.
BIAS IS IN THE BUILDING
- Maryland men's basketball is celebrating the induction of the late Len Bias to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame this Sunday, Nov. 21, in Kansas City.
- He is just the fourth Terrapin to be represented in the hall, joining Tom McMillen and head coaches Lefty Driesell and Gary Williams.
- Maryland will celebrate Bias at its first home game following the ceremony on Dec. 1 against Virginia Tech, when it will give out replica Bias jerseys to the first 4,000 students in attendance.
PLAYING WITH HARTÂ
- Junior Hakim Hart broke out for a season-high 24 points on 8-of-9 shooting, including 19 in the second half, as Maryland defeated Richmond, 86-80, Thursday evening to advance in the tournament.
- The Terrapins trailed by nine points at the break and outscored the Spiders by 15 in the second half. Hart currently leads the Big Ten with 13 total steals.
HIGH-SCORING AFFAIR
- Maryland's victory against Richmond was its first win when allowing an opponent to score 80+ since defeating Illinois, 92-91 (ot), on Dec. 3, 2017.
- It was its first win when allowing 80+ points in a regulation game since defeating Nebraska, 97-86, on March 11, 2016 in the Big Ten Tournament.
- The Terrapins have won 45 straight games when scoring at least 80 points, with its last loss coming to UNC in 2015 (89-81).
ALL EYES ON AYALA
- Maryland senior Eric Ayala surpassed the 1,000-point milestone in the first game of the season against Quinnipiac, becoming the 58th player in program history to do so. He currently ranks 50th in program history with 1,091 career points. Gary Ward (1963-66) currently ranks 49th with 1,094 career points.
- Against George Mason (11/17), Ayala passed Walt Williams for 13th in program history in 3-pointers made. He currently sits at 165 3-pointers for his career. Former teammate Aaron Wiggins (2018-21) ranks 12th with 172.
- Prior to the season, Ayala was selected Preseason All-Big Ten and is on the watch lists for the Wooden Award and Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award.
SERIES HISTORY
- Maryland and Louisville are set to meet for the eighth time in history. The first meeting was in 1961.
- The Terrapins have won the last two matchups, with the most recent being a 95-73 victory on Nov. 20, 2000 in the first round of the Maui Invitational.
- Terence Morris scored 24 points in the win, while Lonny Baxter added 18 and Juan Dixon and Byron Mouton each chipped in 15.
