COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Each week during the 2021-22 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week.
This week's
Solomon Eye Terp of the Week is redshirt junior
King Sandoval of Terps Wrestling.
Sandoval, a Waldorf, Maryland, native, propelled Maryland to two dual victories on Saturday December 4 with a pair of first period pins. Sandoval began his day by pinning Drexel's Deon Pleasent in 2:00 before closing things out with a 33 second pin of Duke's Drake Doolittle. Sandoval was one of five Terps to win both matches on the day, but one of only two to have both be bonus point victories.
The victory over Drexel was Maryland's first since Jan. 10, 2020. The ack-to-back dual victories are first since three straight in November 2017.
Maryland continues it's season against in-state foe Navy on Saturday December 11 at 6 PM.
