COLLEGE PARK, Md. -Â Â The Maryland men's basketball team looks to win its fifth consecutive game Sunday afternoon when it hosts Michigan State for a 2 pm tip on CBS. After winning only four conference games through the first two months and ranking 12th in the conference standings, the Terrapins have won four straight in a span of eight days to place themselves firmly in the NCAA Tournament conversation.

TAKING ON THE NATION'S TOUGHEST
- According to the NCAA's NET ranking system, Maryland has played the 5th-toughest schedule in the country. To date, the Terrapins have played a nation-high 15 Quad 1 games, winning four such games on the road (Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Rutgers). Maryland is one of five schools nationally with at least four Quad 1 road wins, joining Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio State.

The Maryland defense has not allowed an opponent to score more than 61 points in seven of its last nine games. Over its last nine games, Maryland's opponents are averaging just 59.7 points on 37.4-percent shooting, including 30.8-percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
SERIES HISTORY

Maryland is 11-5 all-time against Rutgers in a series that dates back to its inaugural meeting in 1940. The Terps are 3-1 at the RAC since both teams joined the Big Ten in 2014-15. Maryland and Rutgers opened Big Ten play on Dec. 14, when Rutgers overcame a halftime deficit to pull away for the win. Sophomore Donta Scott had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Terps in that game.Â
TERPS ARE DANGEROUS WHEN DARRYL HITS DOUBLE FIGURES
- Since the start of the 2019-20 season, the Terrapins are 22-2 when Darryl Morsell reaches double-figures. A candidate for Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, the Baltimore native became the 56th player in Maryland history to score 1,000 career points and 19th player to make 100 career starts against Nebraska on Feb. 17.Â
WIGGINS FOR tHE WINÂ Â Â

Junior Aaron Wiggins has scored at least 17 points in eight consecutive home games dating back to Jan. 7. During that span, he is averaging 18.9 points on 47-percent shooting and 6.3 rebounds. In Maryland's three wins last week versus Nebraska (2x) and Rutgers, Wiggins averaged 18.7 points and 8.7 rebounds while recording a pair of double-doubles.
