Bernhardt, Wisnauskas Named to Tewaaraton Watch List

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Seniors Jared Bernhardt and Logan Wisnauskas were both named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch list as announced by the organization today.

The duo of Maryland attackman has gotten off to a tremendous start in 2021, pacing Maryland to a 3-0 start and the seventh ranked scoring offense this season.

Bernhardt has totaled 10 goals and seven assists through three games, ranking second on the team in points (17) and 17th in the country in points per game (5.67). Bernhardt has also caused two turnovers and scooped nine ground balls on the season.

The three-time USILA All-American became just the sixth player in program history to hit the 200-point mark at Maryland with his third goal of the night against Penn State on February 26. He joined an illustrious cast of Maryland greats in the 200-point club in Matt Rambo (257), Bob Boneillo (231), Joe Walters (227), Ray Altman (214) and Frank Urso (208).

Bernhardt was named a finalist for the Tewaaraton in 2019 after putting together one of the best individual offensive seasons in program history, where he finished second all-time at Maryland in goals (51) and sixth in points (78) in a single season.

Wisnauskas leads the Terps in points (18) with eight goals and 10 assists on the year. The Sykesville, Maryland, native currently ranks fourth in the nation in assists per game with 3.33 per game, while also ranking 11th in points per game (6.00).

The 2019 USILA All-American is now Maryland's all-time leader in 8+ point games after a career-best 9-point (2G, 7A) outing against #20 Johns Hopkins. The senior has posted five games of 8+ points as a Terp, passing Bob Boneillo (4) for the most 8+ point games in program history. For his efforts, Wisnauskas was named the U.S. Lacrosse National Player of the Week, a USILA Team of the Week honoree and the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
