COLLEGE PARK, Md. - No. 12 Maryland (6-6, 4-3 B1G) will host No. 6 Rutgers (9-3, 5-2) for two games this week. They will play Thursday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 12 p.m. Both games will be streamed on BTN Plus.
The Terrapins will honor seniors Bodil Keus, Hannah Bond and Hannah Menge prior to Saturday's contest.

2020-21 STORYLINES
Right here, right now
- Maryland dropped a weekend series vs. No. 5 Michigan last weekend in College Park. The Terrapins fell 2-1 Saturday and 2-0 Sunday.
- Riley Donnelly currently leads Maryland with 13 points off a team-high five goals and three assists.
- Fifteen student-athletes on the Maryland field hockey team were named to the NFHCA's National Academic Squad recently. Hannah Bond, Belle Bressler, Christina Calandra, Anoushka Chiswell, Brooke DeBerdine, Emma DeBerdine, Riley Donnelly, Nathalie Fiechter, Noelle Frost, Maddie Gaughan, Hannah Menge, Megan Munley, Maura Verleg, Rayne Wright and Sam Zywna were all recognized for earning a cumulative GPA over 3.30.
- Sophomore Emma DeBerdine and junior Bibi Donraadt are Maryland's leading returning scorers. Deberdine scored 7 goals with 5 assists in her rookie campaign. Donraadt knocked in 6 goals with 8 assists. Both were Big Ten Freshmen of the Year in their respective rookie seasons.
- The Terrapins went 17-4 in the 2019 season. They picked up 10 wins over ranked teams and won the Big Ten championship. They made their 25th straight NCAA Tournament appearance and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
Preseason honors
- Three members of the Maryland field hockey team were selected Big Ten Players to Watch List. Senior Brooke DeBerdine, sophomore Emma DeBerdine and senior Noelle Frost were all named to the list.
- Emma DeBerdine is the Terrapins' leading returning scorers from the 2019 Big Ten championship squad. She earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year and All-Big Ten First Team honors last year. She scored seven goals with five assists in her freshman campaign. She added the game-winning goal in a double overtime 2-1 victory at No. 5 Northwestern on Oct. 3, 2019.
- Frost started in all 21 games for the Terrapins last year, picking up eight shutouts on the year. She held a save percentage of 80.6 percent and made 75 saves on the year, allowing just 18 goals.
- Brooke DeBerdine has started in 80 games of her Maryland career. She scored in the Terps' NCAA First Round win over No. 14 Saint Joseph's on Nov. 15, 2019. DeBerdine was voted team captain for the 2021 spring season.
- All three earned All-Big Ten Academic honors in the 2019 season.

- Super senior Brooke DeBerdine was voted team captain for the 2021 spring season by her teammates.
- DeBerdine has played in 80 games of her career as a Terp, helping them to the 2017 and 2018 NCAA Championship games, the 2018 and 2019 Big Ten titles and the 2018 Big Ten Tournament title. She was named to the 2017 NCAA All-Tournament Team and twice earned NFHCA All-Region honors. DeBerdine earned All-Big Ten Academic honors in 2018 and 2019 and NFHCA National Academic Squad honors in her previous three seasons.

- Voted National Coach of the Year an unprecedented nine times, head coach Missy Meharg has exemplified the tradition of excellence Maryland field hockey has become known for, a program with eight National Championships, 18 Final Fours and 26 conference championships - solidifying the Terrapins' position among the top programs in the nation.
- Now in her 33rd season, Meharg has earned a record of 588-148-9 (.795). She has more wins than any coach at Maryland in any sport.

Rutgers head coach Meredith Civico played at Maryland. She helped the Terrapins advance to the NCAA Final Four for three-straight seasons, and helped them win the 2005 ACC title and the 2005 NCAA National Championship.
