
Lafourcade Records Hole-In-One at Indiana Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 19 Maryland women's golf team wrapped up the Indiana Invitational with a second-place finish, highlighted by Charlotte Lafourcade's ace on the 17th hole in round two, the first in program history since 2006. This marks Maryland's fifth top-three finish, with their final team score of 866 (291, 287, 288), just two over par. All six of the Terrapin competitors finished the weekend within the top-30.
No. 74 Laura Van Respaille tied for 12th overall to lead the Terps in individual play, and first in pars for the entire tournament with 43 throughout three rounds. Van Respaille also placed within the top-20 in par 3 and par 4 scoring. The Terp finished with a score of 218 (75, 73, 70).
Xialoin Tian finished just behind Van Respaille with a final score of 219 (72, 76, 71) to tie for 14th. Tian led the team in birdies (9) , and placed within the top-15 for par 3 and par 5 scoring. Fellow Terp Patricie Mackova also tied for 14th with her score of 219 (73, 70, 76). Mackova placed in the top-20 for par 4 and 5 scoring, as well as tied for sixth in overall birdies with 38.
No. 11 Virunpat Olankitkunchai tied for 19th, going 5 over par with a final score of 221 (75, 73, 73). The senior finished with a perfect 3.00 average on par 3 holes, in addition to her 4.75 average on par 5s. Lafourcade tied for 21st with her score of 222 (77, 71, 74), and Maria Vittoria Corbi rounded out the individuals for Maryland with a final score of 223 (71, 76, 76).
