COLLEGE PARK, Md. -Â The third-seeded Maryland men's lacrosse team (13-0) will make its seventh consecutive NCAA Quarterfinal Appearance Sunday, May 23 when the Terps travel to face #6 seed Notre Dame (8-3) in South Bend, Ind. Faceoff on ESPNU is slated for 2:30 p.m.
Maryland topped No. 15 Vermont in the opening round 17-11 on May 16, led by Tewaaraton Award favorite Jared Bernhardt's six goals and one assist for seven points. The six goals are the second-most by a Terp in an NCAA Tournament game in history.
Head coach John Tillman is 8-1 all-time in the Quarterfinal Round at Maryland, and is 22-8 overall at Maryland in the NCAA Tournament.

Jared Bernhardt was named one of five finalists for the Tewaaraton on May 13, becoming the first Terrapin to ever twice be named a finalist for the prestigious award. The 2021 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year currently leads the nation in scoring, averaging 6.31 points per game (82 total) and 4.54 goals per game (59 total) on the season.
- Jared Bernhardt's career-high eight goals against Michigan in the semifinals set a Big Ten Tournament record for goals in a game. Bernhardt is the first player in Maryland history to total eight goals in a game, which sits third on the single game list behind Bob Evans (10 – 1929) and Dick Corrigan (9 – 1958).   Â
- Jared Bernhardt set the all-time single season goals record in Maryland's win over Johns Hopkins, scoring his 53rd goal of the season to break Mark Douglas's record of 52 set back in 1991. Bernhardt needed just 12 games to break the mark, as his 4.53Â GPG average this season ranks 1st all-time at Maryland and 1st in the nation.
TERPS IN THE TOURNEY
- Maryland has reached its 18th consecutive NCAA Tournament – the longest streak in Division I. This is Maryland's 43rd overall NCAA appearance in program history and the 9th time Maryland has advanced to the Quaterfinals under John Tillman.
- Head coach John Tillman has amassed 22Â all-time NCAA Tournament wins, which ranks 7th all-time in Division I history. All 22Â wins have come in 10Â seasons of NCAA Tournament play (2011-21) while at Maryland.
- Maryland's current roster has 80Â games of combined NCAA Tournament experience, with 13 players appearing in NCAA Tournament games before this season.

- Jared Bernhardt was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year while Nick Grill was named the Defensive Player of the Year as the duo headlined Maryland's seven-player All-Big Ten selections announced by the conference last month.Â
- Seven Terps were named Inside Lacrosse Media All-Americans on May 6, led by First Team selection Jared Bernhardt.
- The seven All-B1G selections ties the most-ever in a single season for Maryland (2016) while the four first team honorees also ties a yearly program high (2015).
- Bernhardt and Grill were joined by attackman Logan Wisnauskas and defenseman Brett Makar on the first team. Short stick defensive midfielder Roman Puglise, midfielder Kyle Long and goalie Logan McNaney were second team selections.
- The seven selections brings Maryland's all-time total to 34 since the inception of Big Ten lacrosse.
BIG TEN CHAMPS!
- Maryland came from behind to defeat Johns Hopkins 12-10 on May 8 to capture the program's third Big Ten Tournament title and first since 2017.
- Kyle Long's goal with 5:34 left in the fourth quarter gave Maryland the lead for good at 10-9 as the Terps reeled off five goals in a row in the second half to rally from a 9-6 deficit early in the third quarter. Daniel Maltz scored a team-high three goals, including two in the decisive fourth quarter.

Maryland is off to its best start in school history, winning 13 straight games in 2021. Maryland has won 15 straight games dating back to 2020, its longest win streak since winning 16 games in a row during in 2016 season en route to the National Title game. Maryland has completed six undefeated seasons in program history, the last coming during the 1973 National Championship season. Â Â Â Â Â
