Wiggins Earns Invite to NBA Combine

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Rising senior Aaron Wiggins officially earned an invitation to the 2021 NBA Combine which will be held over the course of the next five days at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.

After being omitted from the original Combine invite list, Wiggins earned a late invitation after a standout performance at the G League Elite Camp on June 20 and June 21. He scored 15 points (5-of-9 FG) in game one, before adding 11 points (5-of-8 FG) in his second game.

Of the 40 players who attended the G League Elite Camp, Wiggins was one of four to earn an invite to the Combine. Wiggins was joined by AJ Lawson (South Carolina), Duane Washington (Ohio State) and Carlik Jones (Louisville).

Wiggins earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten accolades this past season as a junior, averaging 14.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 33.0 minutes/g. He played his best basketball down the stretch, averaging 17.9 points (.506 FG/.408 3FG) and 6.6 rebounds over the final 12 games.

The Greensboro, N.C., native was sensational in the NCAA Tournament, scoring a career-best 27 points in the Round of 32 against Alabama and notching 14 points (4-of-6 3FG). He shot .643 from beyond the arc in the two games, setting a program single-NCAA Tournament record.

The deadline for an early entry player to withdraw from the NBA Draft is July 19. The 2021 NBA Draft is slated for July 29.
