• Maryland beat #21 UMass, 1-0, and California, 4-0, last weekend in the Terrapin Invitational. The Terps have not allowed a goal in 14 quarters of play - marking three straight shutouts.
• The Terrapins have a variety of weapons. Ten Terps have found the goal cage, led by Bibi Donraadt with three goals and three assists this season.

• The Terps are No. 6 in the country in assists per game (3.2). They lead the Big Ten and are No. 8 in the country in corners per game (8.60).

• The Terps return 18 letterwinners from their 2020-21 squad, including All-Americans Brooke DeBerdine and Riley Donnelly. The Terps welcome five newcomers - Carly Hynd, Paige Kieft, Kylee Niswonger and US National Team players Julianna Tornetta and Hope Rose.
• Senior Riley Donnelly, junior Emma DeBerdine and freshman Hope Rose won bronze with the US Under-21 Team in the Junior Pan American Cup in Santiago, Chile in August. Rose was named MVP of the event.
• The Terrapins went 8-7 in the 2020 season (played in the spring of 2021). The Terps closed the regular season with a series sweep of No. 6 Rutgers.

• Fifth-year seniors Brooke DeBerdine and Julianna Tornetta and freshman Hope Rose of the Maryland field hockey squad were named to the Big Ten's Players to Watch List.
• All three Terrapins were named to the US National Team roster this summer, along with former Terps Linnea Gonzales, Kelee Lepage and Carrie Hanks.
• DeBerdine, who earned NFHCA All-America honors this past spring, was voted team captain for the second straight season. She also earned First Team All-Big Ten honors this past spring.
• Tornetta, a graduate transfer from Princeton, and Rose are newcomers to the Terrapins' roster. Tornetta earned NFHCA All-America honors at Princeton in the 2019 and 2018 seasons. She helped the Tigers to back-to-back Final Four appearances and an appearance in the national title game. She tallied 18 goals and 33 assists in her career as a Tiger.
• Rose, an incoming freshman from Dauphin, Pa., earned MAX Field Hockey All-America honors. She scored 233 career goals in her high school career.

• Fifth-year seniors Brooke DeBerdine and Kyler Greenwalt of the Maryland field hockey squad were voted team captain and vice captain, respectively, by their teammates for the fall 2021 season.
• DeBerdine, who earned NFHCA All-America honors this past spring, served as the team's captain for the spring 2021 season.
• Greenwalt earned back-to-back Big Ten Sportsmanship Awards in the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
   

• Voted National Coach of the Year an unprecedented nine times, head coach Missy Meharg has exemplified the tradition of excellence Maryland field hockey has become known for, a program with eight National Championships, 18 Final Fours and 26 conference championships - solidifying the Terrapins' position among the top programs in the nation.
• Now in her 34th season, Meharg has earned a record of 594-150-9 (.795). She has more wins than any coach at Maryland in any sport.

• Maryland is ranked No. 7 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches poll released Sept. 14. The Terrapins have been ranked in the top 5 in 193 of 232 polls, dating back to 1999 and every NFHCA Coaches poll, dating back to 1999.

• The Terps are 144-49-3 (.742) all-time against Big Ten opponents.
• Head coach Missy Meharg is 126-29-1 (.812) vs. Big Ten opponents in her 34 years at the helm of the Maryland field hockey program.
• Since joining the league in 2014, the Terps are 58-14 in conference play, including their 15 Big Ten Tournament games.
• The Terrapins are 52-5 (.912) vs. Big Ten teams at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

• Since its opening in 2003, the Terps are 195-22 (.899) all-time at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

• No. 8 Penn State is 5-0 so far this season. Most recently, the Nittany Lions beat Albany, 3-1, and Delaware, 3-0, last weekend.
• Anna Simon is leading Penn State with 7 goals so far this season. Sophia Gladieux has 5 goals this season.

• Penn State owns the all-time series at 18-25-1. They split their meetings in the spring in State College. The Nittany Lions won 3-0 on March 12. Two days later, the Terrapins won 3-2. Bibi Donraadt scored the game-winner with 1:55 to play.
