COLLEGE PARK, MD -Â The Maryland women's soccer team is back in action this week for its final two regular season non-conference games before beginning Big Ten play.
The Terrapins will first host Penn at Ludwig Field on Thursday, September 9, with kickoff vs. the Quakers slated for 7 p.m. UMD will then head south for a road matchup with Wake Forest a 1 p.m. in Winston-Salem, NC. Â Â
Thursday's game will be streamed on Big Ten Plus.

- On September 2, Maryland women's soccer honored former Cincinnati women's soccer player Ally Sidloski, who tragically lost her life this past May. Â
- This loss hit close to home for Ohio natives Hope Lewandoski, Loren Sefcik and Brooke Weston, who all played with Sidloski throughout their youth soccer days.
- Maryland and its players posed with a #WePlayFor3 sign prior to the game, honoring Sidloski who wore No. 3 for the Bearcats during her career.

comeback kids
- Maryland captured its second comeback win of the season against George Washington on September 2, rallying from an early Colonial goal with two of its own in the first half before putting the game away with an insurance goal in the second half.
- Hope Lewandoski and Madison Oracion both netted their first goals of the season in the victory, while Emily McNesby got on the board for the second time this year.
- Olivia Reese shined in the win, assisting on two goals to notch her first points as a Terp. Oracion's goal was also the first of her UMD career. Â Â
- After falling behind 1-0 in the seventh minute of the game, Maryland rallied for its first comeback win of the season in a 2-1 victory over Richmond on August 26. Â
- Adalee Broadbent spearheaded the rally, launching a shot from 35 yards out over the goalkeeper's head to tie the game in the 68th minute. It marked the third goal in Broadbent's career and first since 2019.
- After Toni Domingos was taken down in the box in the 74th minute, Catherine DeRosa stepped to take the penalty where after a pause, she calmly buried the ball behind the goalie.

SERIES HISTORY
- Maryland is 2-1 all-time vs. the Ivy League's Penn, last facing the Quakers in 2016 during Ray Leone's inaugural season with the program. The Terps picked up a 3-1 win in Philadelphia that meeting back on August 28, 2016.
- The Terps will resume a long-standing series with former ACC foe Wake Forest on Sunday, holding a 10-12-2 all-time record against the Demon Deacons. Maryland picked a 1-0 victory when the teams last played in 2013. Â

Not Short of Scoring Options
- Maryland has had nine different goal scorers through it first six games, a testament to the plethora of scoring weapons on this year's roster.
- Alyssa Poarch and Emily McNesby lead the way with two goals and an assist, while seven other Terps have tallied a goal.
- Maryland's four game-winning goals have come from McNesby, Loren Sefcik, Kori Locksley and Catherine DeRosa.
FIRST OT TEST
- Maryland played its first overtime game of the 2021 season on Sunday, battling Saint Joseph's to a scoreless 0-0 draw in Philadelphia.
- Maryland dominated in the first half, posting a 9-2 edge in shots while totaling a 19-12 advantage in shots on the day. 11 of Maryland's shots were on goal, but the Hawks goalkeeper saved all of them as the Terps picked up their first tie of the season.
- UMD played in three OT games last season, posting a 0-1-2 record in those games. Â Â
