
Terps Complete Final Day of Action in University Park

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – The Maryland track and field squad capped off the Penn State National Open with some impressive performances. After a successful opening night, the Terps looked to capitalize and finish strong, and did just that. The Terps saw several athletes earn personal records, as well as having six athletes earn podium finishes in individual events on the day. Complete results from day two can be found here.
Women's Notes

Christine Laurie set a new personal record (4:51.39) in the mile, taking home fourth place. Her time was also the eighth fastest in program history.

Sophomore Madison Depry (5-7) placed second in the high jump demonstrating consistent jumping for the second week in a row.

Freshman Katie Altieri set a personal record of 9:47.39 in the 3000m, the eighth fastest time in Terps history. Kirstin Nichols also competed in the 3000m for the Terps.

Freshman Emma Pegg (3:00.27) raced to a second place finish in the 1000m.

Mackenzie Morgan (2:12.74) raced to a fourth place finish in the 800m. Kami Joi Hickson also competed in the 800m for the Terps.

Graduate student Angel Nkwonta placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 51-8 ¼. Kamryn Henderson (45-4 ½) also earned a top ten finish in the shot put for the Terps.

Ariana Wright (1:39.90) raced to a sixth place finish in the 600m.

Gwendolyn Zeckowski and Marisa DiGia competed in the pole vault for the Terps squad.

Kasey Ebb and Nyela Williams competed in the 200m dash.

The Terps rounded out the day with the squad of Madison Depry, Ariana Ealy-Pulido, Kattiana Ealy-Pulido and Kasey Ebb competing in the 4x400 relay.
Men's Notes

Graduate Student Solomon Lawrence was victorious in the 600m. His time of 1:20.07 is the fourth fastest time in program history.

Maxwell Myers took home second place in the 600m, with a time of 1:20.32, the fifth fastest time in program history.

Senior Kaithon McDonald had a strong performance in the high jump, clearing 7-0 ¼ and earning a second place finish.

Jeff Kline (17.71m) took home second place in the shot put.

Freshman Eric Albright (2:29.27) raced to a top five finish in the 1000m.

The Terps finished the day competing in the men's 4x400. The squad of Caleb Dean, Maxwell Myers, Solomon Lawrence and Kobe Simpson raced to a time of 3:14.01 earning the fifth fastest 4x400 time in program history as well as capturing second place.
