COLLEGE PARK, Md. - No. 2 Maryland continues their quest for a ninth NCAA Tournament Championship as they face No. 8 Syracuse in the NCAA Quarterfinal. The Terps will match up against the Orange in the second round on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m., the will be available for free on B1G+.
THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES
series history
- Sunday will mark the 10th overall matchup between the Terps and Orange, as the two teams will square off in the NCAA Quarterfinal in consecutive seasons.
- Maryland claimed a 2-1 victory over the Orange in last seasons NCAA Quarterfinal matchup, sending the Terps to their 20th Final Four appearance.
- The Terps hold a 7-2 series advantage all-time and a 6-1 record in College Park, Maryland.
- Maryland and Syracuse have met twice in the NCAA Quarterfinal with the Terps claiming both games by a score of 2-1.

- Maryland, the 2022 Co-Big Ten Champions, are seeking their ninth National Championship all-time, claiming their last NCAA title in 2011.
- The Terps have won eight NCAA Championships including five over seven season from 2005 to 2011.
- The Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex has played home to 29 of Maryland's NCAA Tournament games, and played host to three Final Fours (2007, 2010, 2014). The Terrapins are 26-3 in those games and won the 2010 national title on their home field.
- The Terps are 17-3 in overtime or shootout games in the NCAA Tournament.
35 Years of Missy
- Coach Missy Meharg is in the midst of her 35th season at the helm of the Terps, having led her squads to a record of 622-159-9 with a winning percentage of over 79 percent
- The nine-time National Coach of the Year has amassed 19 Final Fours, 12 NCAA title game appearances and seven NCAA Championships over her tenure
- This past season, Meharg became just the third Division I head coach to reach the 600-win mark. Her 622 wins are the most-ever by any Maryland coach in history across all sports
- Meharg has coached 56 All-Americans, 19 Conference Player of the Year recipients and six of her former student-athletes were named National Player of the Year
