COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Maryland men's basketball team looks to get back on the winning track Sunday afternoon when it travels to No. 3 Purdue for a 1:00 pm tip on CBS and the Maryland Sports Radio Network.

Maryland is seeking its first top-5 victory since defeating No. 3 Iowa on Jan. 28, 2016, and its first such victory as an unranked team since defeating No. 2 Duke on March 15, 2013.
Its last top-5 road victory was at No. 1 North Carolina on Jan. 19, 2008.

Ayala WATCH

Against Iowa (2/10), senior Eric Ayala knocked down his 207th career 3-pointer to pass former teammate Anthony Cowan Jr. and move into third on Maryland's career list.
He trails only Juan Dixon (239) and Greivis Vasquez (230). Ayala also ranks 26th in program history with 1,357 points.

Sunday marks Maryland's first trip to Mackey Arena since it upset 7-seeded UConn, 63-54, in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
Mackey Arena was one of multiple campus sites used last season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Eric Ayala had a team-high 23 points in the victory.

Maryland currently leads the Big Ten in free throws made (349) and is second in free throws attempted (465), while converting at a 75-percent rate (5th in the Big Ten).

Graduate guard Fatts Russell surpassed a pair of major milestones against Iowa (2/10), reaching both 1,900 career points and 500 career assists.
He is the only active player in Division I men's basketball with 1900 points, 500 assists and 225 steals.

SERIES HISTORY

Maryland has won three of its last four meetings against the Boilermakers, including a 61-60 defeat in the most recent meeting on Feb. 2, 2021.
Then-No. 24 Purdue led the game, 60-55, with 1:43 left before the Terps rattled off six straight points, including a pair of Eric Ayala free throws with three seconds remaining, to claim victory.
