- Maryland is seeking its first top-5 victory since defeating No. 3 Iowa on Jan. 28, 2016, and its first such victory as an unranked team since defeating No. 2 Duke on March 15, 2013.
- Its last top-5 road victory was at No. 1 North Carolina on Jan. 19, 2008.

- Against Iowa (2/10), senior Eric Ayala knocked down his 207th career 3-pointer to pass former teammate Anthony Cowan Jr. and move into third on Maryland's career list.
- He trails only Juan Dixon (239) and Greivis Vasquez (230). Ayala also ranks 26th in program history with 1,357 points.

- Sunday marks Maryland's first trip to Mackey Arena since it upset 7-seeded UConn, 63-54, in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
