NEW YORK, NY – The Maryland track and field teams competed on day one of the Rutgers Open, hosted by the New York Armory Track. On meet-day one, Sarah George placed second in the women's weight throw, with the tenth best mark in Terrapins history for the event (18.13m).

Women's Notes

Junior Sarah George earned a second place result in the women's weight throw college division, setting a personal record of 18.13m. The mark of 18.13m is the tenth furthest throw in Terrapins history.

Freshman Katie Altieri raced to a personal best time in the mile, finishing in 4:58.67. Allison Colflesh (5:06.01) also competed in the mile for the Terps.

Kamryn Henderson competed in the women's weight throw championship division, in which she threw to a mark of 16.51m, earning a top ten result.

Jada Ellis made her collegiate debut for the Terrapins, sprinting to a 7.90s finish in the 60m dash.

Junior Kasey Ebb competed for the Terps in the 400m.

Sophomore Brandon Turpin competed in the 60m hurdles, sprinting to an 8.49s finish.

Sophomore Kobe Simpson raced to a 49.36s finish in the 400m.
