LECLAIR CLASSIC STORYLINES
The Rotation
- Nick Dean threw another gem on Friday night as he outdueled Campbell's Thomas Harrington to the tune of seven innings of shutout ball. Dean struck out seven Camels on Friday, and for the second consecutive start, the Bensalem native gave up zero runs.
- Ryan Ramsey picked up his second victory of the season as he gave up just four hits over seven innings, striking out six and giving up just one run.
- Jason Savacool had a career-high 10 strikeouts against the Camels in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader, pitching seven innings of one-run baseball, earning the win, and completing the sweep for Maryland.
Impact Starters
- The Terps received a boost when starting centerfielder Chris "Bubba" Alleyne spurned signing with an MLB team and announcing his return to College Park for his fifth year of eligibility. This season, Alleyne is batting .214 with an OBP of .436.
- Senior leader and All-Big Ten performer Maxwell Costes is batting .333 through the first seven games of the season with six extra-base hits, including two deep home runs against the Baylor pitching staff on opening weekend. Costes currently leads the Terps in home runs with three on the season.
- After a stellar freshman year where he batted .332 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs, Matt Shaw is back for the Terps. In the first weekend, Shaw terrorized the Bears, batting .538 with four runs scored, five RBIs, and two home runs.
Meet The Coaches
- Fifth-year Head Coach Rob Vaughn signed a contract extension this past summer after the program reached its first regional since 2017. Vaughn is a career 101-82 as the coach of the Terps.
- Matt Swope and Anthony Papio return to the bench this year for Maryland, with Papio being named assistant coach this past summer. Mike Morrison joins the staff from Coastal Carolina, where he won a national championship as a player in 2016 and where he spent the last two years as Director of Player Development and Scouting of the Chanticleers, as well as interim pitching coach. Former Maryland baseball player Tommy Gardiner joins the staff as Director of Player Development after spending the last four seasons playing under Vaughn, Swope, and Papio.

- Michigan is led by IF/OF Clark Elliott who is batting .400 on the season with three home runs and 13 RBIs. Cameron Weston (4.50 ERA) is in line to start on Friday for the Wolverines.
- Indiana State is led by IF Jordan Schaffer's .414 batting average to go along with one home run and three RBIs.
- East Carolina's Lane Hoover leads the team with a .424 batting average and three RBIs. The Pirates don't have a player with more than one home run on the season.
