Terps Set for Showdown at Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, PA - The Maryland men's golf team returns to the links after a short four-day break to make the quick, nearly 200-mile trip north to compete in the 45th Rutherford Intercollegiate. This will be the fifth tournament of the spring season.

Over the two-day tournament (Apr. 16-17), players will play at 7,202 yards on the par-71 Penn State - Blue Course.

"We're looking forward to a great weekend," says head coach Jason Rodenhaver. "The proximity to College Park is a plus, as well as bentgrass fairways and bermuda greens we're used to seeing at home. The whole team has played here before aside from (freshman) Florian Huerlimann."

Last season (2020-21), the Terps finished 5th overall. Will Koras made an ace during the final round on the 17th hole. Both Koras and Dillon Brown finished in a tie for ninth in the event.

Head coach Jason Rodenhaver will start Dillon Brown, Chris Tanabe, Florian Huerlimann, Dhaivat Pandya, and Will Koras for the Terrapins.

Other teams participating in the Intercollegiate include host Penn State, Bowling Green, Connecticut, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, George Mason, Georgetown, Loyola (MD), Michigan State, Oakland, Richmond, Saint Mary's, and Seton Hall. From the Big 10, Michigan State and competing in the individual competition: West Virginia.
