COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland lost to No. 22 Michigan, 9-2, in the series finale on Saturday afternoon at the Maryland Softball Stadium. The Terps were seeking their fourth series win in a row in Big Ten play and now stand at 22-18 overall and 8-4 in conference play.
The Terps had four hits in the game as
Jaeda McFarland went 2-for-3 with her second home run of the season while
Taylor Okada and
Ruby Butler had singles. Okada's hit in the fourth brought home pinch runner
Kamryn Davis to get Maryland on the board.
Michigan (26-13, 6-6) starter Meghan Beaubien pitched a complete game striking out four.

• Michigan scored three runs in the first inning thanks to a two-run doubles by Taylor Bump, who then scored on an error.
• The Wolverines extended to a 4-0 lead on a Hannah Carson RBI double in the second.
• Maryland got on the scoreboard on Okada's single to left center scoring Davis who stole both second and third base.
• Michigan added three more runs in the fifth on a single by Ellie Sieler and a two-run triple by Kristina Burkhardt.
• The Wolverines tacked on another run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth making it 8-1.
• McFarland blasted her home run off the right centerfield scoreboard in the sixth to cut it to 8-2.
• Michigan added another run in the seventh for the final of 9-2.
