No. 24 Terps Bludgeon Buckeyes, 16-1, Sweep Weekend Series

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Kevin Keister pointed toward his team's dugout and celebrated as he pulled in at second base. No. 24 Maryland baseball had just gotten its first hit of the ballgame in the second inning in exciting fashion — Keister smacked a two-run double off the base of the left-field wall after Troy Schreffler Jr. reached on a walk and Bobby Zmarzlak was hit by a pitch.

These were the first two runs of the day for head coach Rob Vaughn's squad, and was the onset of a long day for Ohio State's pitchers. The Terps (29-7, 7-2 Big Ten) dominated the Buckeyes (11-21, 2-8 Big Ten) in a 16-1 win on Easter Sunday at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium, completing a weekend sweep against their Big Ten foe.

It was the largest margin of victory for Maryland in a Big Ten game since May 12, 2018, when the Terps pulled off a 17-2 win over Rutgers.

Jason Savacool turned in another strong start on the mound, surrendering just three hits over seven scoreless innings and striking out seven.
