Terps Remain in Contention at US Open

LAS VEGAS - Two Terps, Jaxon Smith and Ethen Miller, remain in podium contention for the U-20 Freestyle bracket at the 2022 United States Marine Corps Open.

At 92KG, Smith ran his way to the finals with victories over Eli Sheeren, Parker Venz, and Caden Rogers. In those three matches, he has outscored opponents 32-1. He'll face Silas Allred in the championship round.

Meanwhile at 65KG, Miller is in the bloodround with one victory needed for a spot on the podium, he'll face Joel Vandervere (Wildcat RTC). Yesterday he defeated Cole Brooks (OKRTC) 10-5, Joel Jesuroga (Sebolt) 3-1, Caleb Rathjen (Hawkeye RTC) 10-6, Garrett Kuchan (Air Force RTC) 11-4, Finn Solomon (Penn) 4-4, and Q'veli Quintanilla (Inland Northwest RTC) 10-0 on the backside.

Adrien Cramer and Chase Mielnik both won maches on Friday before bowing out of the tournament.
