Maryland-Rutgers Set for Sunday Night

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The unanimously top-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse team returns to Maryland Stadium for the first time in 43 days as they welcome the No.4/3 Rutgers Scarlet Knights in a battle for the top of the Big Ten. Maryland has spent the last several weeks at various venues including road games, Audi Field, and an unexpected game at Jones-Hill House.

The game will be available on Big Ten Network with streaming HERE. The game will also be broadcast on radio by Maryland Sports Properties with airings on The BET 1300 AM in Baltimore, The Team 930 in Washington DC, and the One Maryland Mobile App.

RUTGERS STORYLINES

HIGH-OCTANE OFFENSE
  • Six Terps have already amassed 20 points this season: Logan Wisnauskas (51), Keegan Khan (32), Jon Donville (28), Eric Malever (23), Kyle Long (21), Anthony DeMaio (21).
  • A Terrapin has recorded a hat trick in 48 consecutive games. 
  • Maryland is averaging a scoring margin of nearly ten as they average 18.4 goals per game while limiting foes to 9.7.
  • The team's 40.3 shot percentage is the nation's best rate. 
  • Ten individual Terps scored in Saturday's victory over Michigan, the second straight week the Terps have dominated with a balanced attack.
  • Maryland has scored at least 20 goals in five games this season, including three of their past four contests. Rutgers is the next closest within the Big Ten conference with three such games this year.

  • Fifth-year senior Logan Wisnauskas has established himself as one of the most dangerous offensive players in college lacrosse during his career with the Terps, and now leads the Maryland offense in his final year with the program. Here's a look at Wisnauskas by the numbers.

    3 - Wisnauskas (288) is third on the active list of D1 players in points, 96 behind the active leader in Chris Gray of North Carolina (382)

    5 – Wisnauskas (171) is ranked fifth on the active list of D1 players in goals, 21 behind the active leader in Gray of North Carolina (192)

    2 – Wisnauskas currently ranks second all-time at Maryland in career points (288) and career goals (171).

    8 – Wisnauskas has six career eight-point games as a Terrapin – the most in program history – last posting eight (5G, 3A) in Maryland's season-opening win over High Point.

  • Maryland was ranked No. 1 in the country in both the USILA Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll this week for the eighth straight week. This was their third week as the unanimous selection.
  • The Terps have been tabbed No. 1 in at least one of the polls at some point during the year in four of the last six seasons.

  • Maryland has won 36 consecutive games when allowing an opponent under 10 goals dating back to the 2017 National Championship season. 
  • The Terps' defense held opponents to 10 or fewer goals in six of their nine games this season. The stellar defense comes alongside a squad that has forced 86 turnovers. 
  • Logan Wisnauskas has started 66 consecutive games and recorded a point in all 66. 
  • Maryland was won 21 consecutive regular season games dating back to Feb. 18, 2020. 
  • A Terp has record a hat trick in 48 straight games dating back to May 26, 2018. 
  • With a victory on Sunday, Maryland will win ten games for the 19th-striaght season, an NCAA-best. The shortened 2020 season is not counted.
