COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland softball team crushed Coppin State, 8-0, on Wednesday evening at the Maryland Softball Stadium. The Terps (19-15, 5-1 Big Ten) allowed just one hit against the Eagles and scored seven runs in the third inning to secure the victory.
Courtney Wyche started on the mound for Maryland and threw 4.1 scoreless innings while striking out eight batters and walking five. Wyche did not allow a hit until the fifth inning.
Maryland has now won six games in a row for the first time since 2013 when the team won six games in a row between March 23 and April 6.
