COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland field hockey team will continue their opening weekend at home this week as they host Stanford on Monday for a 3:00 pm start. The Terps Monday afternoon clash against Stanford will be streamed live on B1G Network.

- Monday's matchup marks the ninth meeting between Maryland and Stanford with the Terps holding an 8-0-0 all-time series record. The two teams have not met since 2012, when Maryland took home a thrilling 3-2 double overtime victory at Stanford.
Experience and Excitement
- Maryland opens the 2022 campaign ranked No. 4 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Pre-Season Poll
- The Terps opened up 2022 with a strong 7-1 victory over Drexel in College Park. Hope Rose led the team with two goals and two assists, while Freshman Sophie Klautz contributed two goals in her debut in the Red and White.
- Maryland features a talented squad that includes 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Hope Rose and 2021 NCAA All-Tournament Team selection Bibi Donraadt
- The Terps retain significant production and leadership from last season's Final Four team including bringing back all three of their top point scorers from a year ago in Bibi Donraadt (33), Hope Rose (24) and Emma DeBerdine (21)
- Maryland also brings back Graduate Student Riley Donnelly and Seniors Margot Lawn, Belle Bressler, Maura Verleg, Nathalie Fiechter, Sam Zywna, and Christina Calandra
- Overall, the Terps return seven starters and a tremendous amount of offensive firepower across the roster with returners accounting for 48 goals and 41 assists last season

new Faces at the plex
- Friday nights opener against Drexel was the debut for nine Terps, as two graduate students and seven freshman suited up in the Red and White for the first time.
- Graduate students Danielle Van Rootselaar and Leah Crouse will look to make an immediate impact for the Terps. Both come to College Park with a tremendous amount of experience. Van Rootselaar a 2022 team captain comes to Maryland after three seasons at Brown, earning All-Ivy League honors three times. Crouse, a 2022-23 U.S. National Team Selection, comes from Duke where she tallied 18 goals and 16 assists over four years with the Blue Devils.
- The Terps also welcome a talented freshman class in Sophie Klautz, Ericka Morris-Adams, Lillian Buckwalter, Ava Trexler, Reese Delp, Leah Horwitz, and Juana Laskowski

35 Years of Missy
- Coach Missy Meharg enters her 35th season at the help of the Terps, having led her squads to a record of 605-156-9 with a winning percentage of over 79 percent
- The nine-time National Coach of the Year has amassed 19 Final Fours, 12 NCAA title game appearances and seven NCAA Championships over her tenure
- This past season, Meharg became just the third Division I head coach to reach the 600-win mark. Her 605 wins are the most-ever by any Maryland coach in history across all sports
- Meharg has coached 56 All-Americans, 19 Conference Player of the Year recipients and six of her former student-athletes were named National Player of the Year

Best of the Best on the horizon
- The Terps will be playing an impressive 18-game slate, consisting of 10 non-conference games and 8 conference games.
- Maryland will host 10 home games in 2022 including the 22nd annual Terrapin Invitational.
- The Terrapins will once again play one of the most difficult schedules in the nation playing 12 teams ranked in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Pre-Season Top 25 including 10 ranked in the Top 15.
