Final Results

POTOMAC, MD - The Maryland men's golf team finished fifth out of nine teams at the 2022 Howard/ University of San Francisco (USF) Intercollegiate on Tuesday in their second tournament of the season. Senior Will Celiberti, who played the event as an individual, finished in a two-way tie for 16th. He posted a score of 225 (73-74-78), at 15 over par.

The Collective
-Senior Dillon Brown finished in 16th with his teammate, posting (78-67-80) (+15)
-Senior Will Koras finished in a two-way for 18th, posting (77-77-72) (+16)
-Freshman Ronnie Kim finished in solo 18th, posting (77-73-78) (+18)
-Freshman Armand Papaziani finished in a two-way tie for 28th, posting (83-74-77) (+24)
-Freshman Constantin Mons finished in a three-way tie for 30th, posting (84-74-78) (+26) in his debut event for Maryland

Maryland co-led the field with eagles made with two (W. Brown and R. Kim, during the second round, par-four - 14th hole).

"What a great experience for our team," said head coach John Phillips. "To be able to compete and test their abilities on a course that regularly hosts PGA TOUR events was a real treat. I'm happy with how the team responded as the event unfolded. Those were, without a doubt, the toughest conditions I've experienced in my coaching career."

"There were a lot of positives to take away from this event. The lessons we learned this week will pay dividends for the rest of the season."

"I'm also happy for Celiberti, Brown, and Koras for earning top-20 individual finishes. Koras continues his strong final campaign as a Terp, and Dillon and Celiberti responded nicely after their performances at the Badger (Invitational). They both came back to College Park on a mission, and I'm glad their hard work is starting to pay off."

Co-host University of San Francisco (USF) won the overall team event, and Howard's Gregory Odom, Jr. won the individual division.

The Terrapins played the par-70 - 7,011-yard TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, designed by a quartet of architects, including the late Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, former Maryland standout, head coach, and Hall of Famer Fred Funk, and PGA TOUR legend Davis Love III. The layout has hosted multiple professional golf events, including the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA TOUR. The layout ranks as the sixth-toughest course on the PGA TOUR.

Next season, the Intercollegiate moves west as USF will be the primary host. The tournament will take place at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, Ca.
