Lincoln, NE -- The Terrapins opened their Big Ten slate with a 195.875 - 195.325 victory over Nebraska. This victory marks the fifth win all-time over the Cornhuskers, after competing to a 196.450 - 196.450 tie at last season's Big Ten Championship.
The Terps began the meet with a strong rotation on Bars as
Victoria Gatzendorfer and
Elizabeth DeBarberie tied with a 9.800 and earned the top score on the event. Maryland continued their momentum with an excellent rotation on vault as
Alexsis Rubio and
Emma Silberman scored a 9.875. Rubio and Silberman led a vault rotation that propelled Maryland into first heading into floor. Floor was more of the same as
Reese McClure led the Terps with a 9.875. The Terps anchored the meet on beam with freshman Maddie Komoroski scoring a meet-high 9.875 to lead the Terps to a win in Lincoln, Nebraksa. Silberman finished second in the all-around finishing above Nebraska's Sophia McClelland.
Maryland will host their home opener next as they welcome Michigan State to the XFINITY Center on Sunday, January 29. The Meet will be available on B1G+ and admission is free.
