Wrestling Completes Red-Black Match To Start Season

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- New and old faces made a big impression in Maryland wrestling's annual Red-Black Match on Thursday evening in the XFINITY Center Pavilion.

Returning NCAA Qualifiers Kal Miller, Ethen Miller and Dominic Solis all picked up big wins with bonus points in addition to King Sandoval earning a big technical fall in the second bout out the night. Chase Mielnik and John Martin Best also won their matches.

The newcomers also made a big splash, highlighted by a big performance by Seth Nevills to end the night. True freshman Dario Lemus and AJ Rodrigues also impressed in their Maryland debuts, each picking up victories.

Red team members won 10 of the 13 bouts, with the exception of the first one, the one at 197 pounds and the first of the heavyweight matches.
