Clemsen Signs Six As Part Of 2024 Recruiting Class

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland wrestling head coach Alex Clemsen announced the signings of Abram Cline, Tyler Garvin, Sam Gautreau, Mekhi Neal, Presden Sanchez and Oscar Williams today.

The class includes four wrestlers in MatScouts' top-160, three state champions and six state placers.

"I want to start first by saying thanks to our staff for all the hard work that they put in to recruiting this class," Clemsen said. "Coach (Nick) Brascetta leads our recruiting process and I am extremely thankful for his tireless efforts on that front. We knew that we needed to cultivate another difference-making class similar to the eighth-ranked class of 2021. I know we all feel similarly about this class as we did when we signed Jaxon Smith, Braxton Brown, and Ethen Miller. We have impact kids in this class and I know our crowd is going to love this new crop of TurtlePower!"

Head coach Alex Clemsen: Abram Cline is a spark plug. His wrestling IQ and feel are as good as any. He has all the skills to be a great 125 for us. We have started a California connection now with Dario Lemus, Seth Nevills, and now Abram Cline. I'm sure more will follow."
