All-Patriot League Selection DeMartino Signs with Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland women's soccer head coach announced the addition of Delaney DeMartino to the roster for the 2024 season. DeMartino joins the Terrapins after two seasons at Loyola University Maryland.

DeMartino spent the last two seasons at Loyola (MD) as a forward for the Greyhounds. DeMartino played in 34 games during the two seasons and made 30 starts. DeMartino was second on the team in 2023 with four goals and also had an assist. DeMartino played over 1200 minutes in 2023, playing over 70 minutes in 11 games this past season. DeMartino's speed played an integral role in Loyola's attack all season long.

DeMartino was named Third Team All-Patriot League, helping lead Loyola to an 11-6 record and a berth in the Patriot League Tournament. Loyola won their first four games in Patriot League play to start conference action, which was the program's best start in conference play since 2009 when it went 9-0 as a member of the MAAC.

Before playing for Loyola, DeMartino starred at Walt Whitman High School. The Potomac, Maryland native tallied 22 goals and 24 assists in her senior year and was named First Team All-State and the Washington Post All-Met Player of the Year. In 2021, DeMartino captained Walt Whitman HS to the Maryland 4A State Championship.
