HARRISONBURG, VA -- The No. 5 Terps made a late comeback push, but ultimately fell to No. 12 James Madison on the road on Wednesday afternoon, 8-7.

Breaking Down The Action
- The Terps cut a 2-0 deficit in half early in the second quarter as Clevenger netted her first of the evening. James Madison led 4-2 at halftime.
- After James Madison scored three times in a row to make it an 8-4 lead with 10:47 remaining, the Terps fought back with three consecutive goals of their own, including two from May. May's second made it an 8-7 game with 4:22 left of play.
- A big defensive stop late gave the Terps a chance, but they could not capitalize.

- The 2023 season is the 50th season of Maryland women's lacrosse, a program that has been the most successful in the entire sport since its start.
- Maryland has won 15 national championships and 31 conference championships. The Terps have participated in 28 Final Fours, including 12 of the last 13 and have won 12 of the last 28 national championships, including seven-straight from 1995- 2001. Maryland now has an all-time program record of 762-148-3 in 50 seasons for a 83.7 win percentage.
