COLLEGE PARK, MD --  The Maryland women's basketball team (26-6) will take on No. 7-seeded Arizona (22-9) Sunday in the NCAA Round of 32 at the XFINITY Center. The Terps and the Wildcats will tip off at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday's game will be televised on ESPN. For tickets, click here. The top four seeds in the bracket in Greenville 1 Region are No. 1 South Carolina, No. 2 Maryland, No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 4 UCLA. 

Parking

Parking will be open to the public in lots 4b, 6 (Terrapin Trail Garage), 9b, 11b all day on Sunday, March 19. Click here for a campus parking map. Please note: 

  • Lot XVL is a metered lot and will not be available for free parking.

  • Lot 5 requires a 24/7 parking permit. Fans should avoid parking here unless they have the proper parking credentials.

Fans will only be able to carry the following style and size bag into XFINITY Center, all of which are subject to search.

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"

  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)

  • Small clutch bags, measuring 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap

2022-23 STORYLINES

What's UP
  • Maryland is the No. 2 seed in the Greenville 1 Regional in the NCAA Tournament. The Terrapins will take on 7th-seeded Arizona (22-9) Sunday in the NCAA Round of 32.
  • This is the Terps' 13th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, dating back to 2010, and 18th in head coach Brenda Frese's 21 seasons at Maryland (2020 NCAA Tournament was canceled). Maryland is 51-28 (.646) all-time in the NCAA Tournament and 39-16 (.709) under Frese.
  • The Terrapins are 7-3 vs. ranked teams this season and are tied with Indiana to lead the nation with four wins over top 10 teams. Maryland and Indiana are the only teams in the country with four top 10 wins.
  • Miller earned Second Team All-America honors from The Athletic, the Associated Press and the USBWA.
  • Miller was named a unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selection by the league's head coaches and media panel. Shyanne Sellers was voted to the First Team by the media, Second Team by the coaches and earned All-Defensive Team honors. Abby Meyers was named to the Second Team by both groups and Faith Masonius earned a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
  • Diamond Miller is one of 25 top players in the country named to the Wooden Award Midseason Watch List. She was also named a finalist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, as well as the Wade Watch and Naismith Midseason lists.
  • Shyanne Sellers was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Final 10 list for the nation's top small forward.
  • Maryland has five 1,000 point scorers (Miller - 1,627; Meyers - 1,398; Briggs - 1,181; Alexander - 1,110; Pinzan - 1,025).
  • Maryland women's basketball is in its 52nd season and owns a record of 1,103-449 (.711). The Terrapins are No. 11 all-time in NCAA Division I history in winning percentage and No. 9 in all-time victories.
  • Senior Diamond Miller was named to the 10-player Preseason All-Big Ten Team for the second straight season to start the year. She is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree and was the 2021 Big Ten Tournament Co-MOP.
  • Maryland was picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten by both the league's head coaches and media panel. Both groups picked Iowa to win the conference. The coaches selected Ohio State to finish second, Indiana to finish third with Michigan rounding out the top five. The media panel picked Indiana to finish second, Ohio State third and Michigan fifth.
  • Two-time National Coach of the Year Brenda Frese brought in nine new players this season, including AP Honorable Mention All-American honoree Abby Meyers (Princeton), All-SEC transfer Lavender Briggs (Florida), All-AAC transfer Elisa Pinzan (USF), SEC graduate transfer Brinae Alexander (Vanderbilt) and All-CAA transfer Allie Kubek (Towson).
  • All five transfers averaged over 9.0 points per game last year - Meyers (17.9), Alexander (15.2), Briggs (12.5), Kubek (12.2) and Pinzan (9.3).

  • Head coach Brenda Frese is in her 21st season in College Park. She's led the Terrapins to a record of 561-146 (.794), 14 conference titles, 18 NCAA Tournament bids in 21 postseasons, three Final Fours, six Elite Eights, 10 Sweet Sixteens and the 2006 NCAA Championship. 
  • Frese owns a career record of 618-176 (.778) over her 24 years as a head coach.
  • Frese was named National Coach of the Year by the AP, The Athletic and ESPN at the end of the 2020-21 season. In October 2021, Frese was the first woman inducted into the Washington DC Metro Basketball Hall of Fame.
  • With the Terrapins' win at Nebraska on Feb. 14, 2021, Frese picked up win No. 500 at Maryland, which makes her the winningest coach in Maryland basketball history. Hall of Fame women's basketball head coach Chris Weller won 499 games in her 27 seasons (1975-02).

  • Since joining the Big Ten in 2014-15, the Terrapins are 157-24 (.867) vs. their conference opponents, including their 20-4 record in the Big Ten Tournament.
