
Maryland Returns to Seahawk Intercollegiate After Ten Years

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Maryland men's golf team returns to fairways after a five-week break to compete in the 11th annual Seahawk Intercollegiate, hosted by UNC-Wilmington. This is the Terps' seventh event of the 2022-23 campaign.
Over the two-day tournament (Mar. 26-27), the Terrapins will play the par-72 - 7,031-yard the Country Club of Landfall: Dye Course designed by Pete Dye.
The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday beginning at 8:30 a.m. in a shotgun format.
The squad will be led by senior Dillon Brown of Halifax, Mass., freshman Constantin Mons of Hamburg, Germany, sophomore Florian Huerlimann of Heidelberg, Germany, senior Will Celiberti of Ridgewood, N.J., and freshman Ronnie Kim of Olney, Md. will round out the Terps' lineup.
"We're excited to get things going again at the Seahawk Intercollegiate in Wilmington this weekend," said head coach John Phillips. "After a prolonged break, this is the first of three events leading up to the Big Ten Championship. We're looking forward to a great weekend on a great course against some quality competition."
Last time out, Maryland finished third overall out of 12 teams back in 2013. That year, the field played the Nicklaus Course at the Country Club of Landfall.
The teams participating in the Invitational include host No. 73 UNCW, Appalachian State, Campbell, Charleston Southern. No. 44 Clemson, Coastal Carolina, No. 77 Davidson, Francis Marion, Georgetown, James Madison, Stetson, No. 27 TCU, No. 98 Toledo, USC Upstate, and No. 80 Wright State. Competing in the event from the Big Ten Conference is Nebraska. Rankings are based on team standings from Golfstat as of March 21, 2023.
