COLLEGE PARK, MD. – No. 5 Maryland tried to rally in the second half, but despite
Kori Edmondson's first career hat trick, the Terps came up short in an 8-7 loss to No. 9 Denver at SECU Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Edmondson not only scored the first two goals of the afternoon for the Terps but led the team with three goals.
Along with Edmondson, Maryland had goals scored from Libby May, Eloise Clevenger and Victoria Hensch and Hannah Leubecker, who cut the lead to 8-7 with 1:57 left in the fourth quarter. Leubecker also led the Terps with two assists.

- Maryland scored twice to begin the game in the first quarter as Edmondson scored with 8:02 and 3:48 left on the clock.
- The Terps tied things up at 3-3 at the 11:19 mark in the second quarter as May scored to stop a 3-0 Denver run.
- Denver went on to score four-straight goals, scoring the last two of the first half and first two of the second half, scoring within the first five minutes of the third quarter.
- Maryland stormed back at the end of the third on a 3-0 run to cut the score to 7-6 as Clevenger, Leubecker and Edmondson's third goal of the game.
- Denver extended its lead to two as Ellie Curry scored with six minutes left before Maryland cut the lead back to one at 8-7 as Hensch scored with 1:57 left in the game.

- The 2023 season is the 50th season of Maryland women's lacrosse, a program that has been the most successful in the entire sport since its start.
- Maryland has won 15 national championships and 31 conference championships. The Terps have participated in 28 Final Fours, including 12 of the last 13 and have won 12 of the last 28 national championships, including seven-straight from 1995- 2001. Maryland now has an all-time program record of 764-150-3 in 50 seasons for a 83.3 win percentage.
