- The 2023 season will be the 50th season of Maryland women's lacrosse, a program that has been the most successful in the entire sport since its start.
- Maryland has won 15 national championships and 31 conference championships. The Terps have participated in 28 Final Fours, including 12 of the last 13 and have won 12 of the last 28 national championships, including seven-straight from 1995-2001. Maryland has an all-time program record of 774-156-3 through 49 seasons.

- Shaylan Ahearn was selected as the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year and Emily Sterling was selected as the Big Ten Goaltender of the Year, the conference announced Monday.
- Ahearn has been one of the most dominant draw specialists in all of lacrosse this season, leading the Big Ten and standing 10th in the nation with 131 draw controls, currently standing fifth all-time in program history for single season draw controls. The First Team All-Big Ten selection has 313 career draw controls, the fourth-most in program history and the sixth-most of any active player.
- Sterling has been tremendous in goal for the Terps this season, posting a .487 save percentage, 181 saves and a 9.33 goals against average. The senior captain has had over a 50-percent save percentage in 11 of 21 games and has had double digit saves in six different games including 15 against Georgetown and Princeton, 13 against Northwestern and 12 against Michigan.

- Maryland has been dominant on the draw circle through 20 games, standing with the fifth-best draw control percentage in the nation, winning 61.9 percent of all draw controls this season. The Terps have recorded 16.10 draw controls per game this season, the 14th-best mark in the nation. Shaylan Ahearn stands 10th in the country and leads the Big Ten with 131 draw controls.
- In the Terps game against Ohio State, Ahearn helped the Terps win the draw control battle by a staggering 19-3 mark and recorded the 300th draw control of her career with her seventh of the game, only the fourth Terp in program history to tally 300 draw controls. Ahearn has jumped from seventh to fourth on the Maryland draw control career rankings this season and is only 11 behind Lizzie Colson (2017-21) for third all-time.
- Ahearn's 131 draw controls this season currently stands as the fifth-best mark in program history and is only 13 draw controls away from Taylor Cummings single season program record of 144 (2015).
- Another Terp, Abby Bosco, also eclipsed the 200 draw control mark at Villanova and now has 264 in her career. 183 of those have come as a Terp, 81 at Penn, where she played from 2018-21.

- Maryland has won four of the last eight National Championships, last winning in 2019. The Terps lead the nation with 38 NCAA appearances and are also tops in wins (79), championship game appearances (22) and NCAA titles (14). The Terps are making their 33rd consecutive appearance in the postseason (1990-2023).
- The Terps have made 12 of the past 13 Final Fours dating back to 2009. Under Cathy Reese, Maryland has five National Championships (2010, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019). Reese is 41-10 at Maryland in the NCAA Tournament, making 12 Final Fours and eight championship games.
- Maryland has won eight of the last nine Second Round games they've competed in, with the lone loss coming at No. 7 Duke in 2021. Last season, Maryland defeated Duke, 19-6 in the Second Round.

- Head Coach Cathy Reese enters her 17th season at the helm of Maryland women's lacrosse. The winningest coach in program history, Reese is 317-40 as head coach and has led the Terps to five National Championships, 12 Final Fours and 22 Conference Championships.
- Maryland is 168-6 at home under Reese, with nine undefeated home campaigns in the last 11 seasons (2013, '14, '15, '16, '17, '18, '19, '21).
- Reese is 41-10 at Maryland in the NCAA Tournament, making 12 Final Fours and eight championship games.

- The Terps lead the all-time series against James Madison, 42-5, and have won 12 of the last 14.
- This will be the Terps and Dukes first meeting in the postseason since 2001, where Maryland defeated James Madison 11-9 in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Maryland is 2-0 against James Madison in the NCAA Tournament.
- Maryland fell at then No. 12 James Madison, 8-7, on March 1. Eloise Clevenger (2G), Libby May (2G) Hannah Leubecker and Kori Edmondson all scored for the Terps. Clevenger and May also each added assists. Emily Sterling made four saves in goal for the Terps.
