Five Terps on NBA Rosters To Begin Season

Five former Maryland men's basketball standouts will be begin the 2024-25 NBA season on Wednesday night along with the majority of the league. Read below for updates on each and Click HERE to see the full NBA schedule for this week along with how you can follow along!
 
BRUNO FERNANDO – TORONTO RAPTORS
Wednesday, Oct. 23 - vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Friday, Oct. 25 - vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Saturday, Oct. 26 - at Minnesota Timberwolves

 
Fernando joined the Raptors ahead of the 2024 season. Fernando finished the 2023-24 season with the Atlanta Hawks averaging 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds. Fernando played in 45 games a season ago with the Hawks, while also making two starts on the season.

Thursday, Oct. 24 - vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Saturday, Oct. 26 - at Los Angeles Lakers


Huerter heads into his third season as a member of the Sacramento Kings. Last season, Huerter averaged 10.2 points a game with 3.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. Huerter shot 44.3-percent from the field last season, while also shooting 36.1-percent from the bonus sphere Huerter played in 64 games during the 2023-24 season for Sacramento, while also making 59 starts.

Len completed his 11th NBA season last year averaging 2.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in 48 games. Len had a 61.7 field-goal percentage in the 2023-24, the highest of his career and his highest field-goal percentage since the 2020-21 season.

Saturday, Oct. 26 - vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

 
Smith was a key figure for Indiana in his fifth NBA season where he averaged 9.9 points per game and 5.5 rebounds. Smith shot a career-high42.4% from the three-point line, while also shooting for a career-high field-goal percentage of 59.2%. Smith heads into his first season with the Bulls after joining them in free agency during the off-season.
AARON WIGGINS – OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
Thursday, Oct. 24 - at Denver Nuggets
Saturday, Oct. 26 - at Chicago Bulls
Sunday, Oct. 27 - vs. Atlanta Hawks


Wiggins played a career-high 78 games for the Thunder in his third NBA season. He averaged 6.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game. Wiggins also featured prominently for the Thunder in the postseason, playing in all 10 of their play-off games last season. Wiggins averaged 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds during the postseason for the Thunder.
