COLLEGE PARK, MDÂ -- Maryland returns to XFINITY Center on Friday, Nov. 8 to host Mount St. Mary's. The game will tip at 8 PM ET and will be televised on BTN. Fans can listen to the game on the Maryland Sports Radio Network with Chris Knoche and Walt Williams. The Terps opened the season with a 79-49 win over Manhattan headlined by

Non-Conference Streaks
- The win over Manhattan extended Marylands win streak for home openers to 48 games which ranks third nationally. The streak began with the 1977 season. The last time Maryland lost a home opener was on Nov. 27, 1976.
- Maryland has won 10 straight home non-conference games and 16 consecutive against un-ranked non-conference foes. The last time Maryland lost to an un-ranked non-conference opponent was Dec. 1, 2021 against Virginia Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
- Maryland is 313-75 (.807) all-time at the XFINITY Center including 28-7 (.800) under Kevin Willard. Under Willard, the Terps have five home top 25 victories highlighted by the 2022-23 win over No. 3 Purdue.
Maryland has won 10 straight against non-conference opponents.
Newcomers Key In Manhattan Win
- Maryland received key contributions from a trio of newcomers in the win over Manhattan to start the season. Along with Derik Queen's 22-point, 20-rebound double-double, the Terps also received 16 points from Ja'Kobi Gillespie and 12 points from Rodney Rice.
- Queen's 22 points were the most by a Maryland freshman in his debut game since Joe Smith had 26 vs. Georgetown in 1993. He also posted the most rebounds by a freshman in their debut for Maryland and the most by any Big Ten freshman in a debut since at least 1996-97.
- Gillespie also had five assists, three rebounds and no turnovers in his first game as a Terp. Rice played in his first game in 600 days after sitting out the 2023-24 season. He scored 11 of his 12 points in the second half.
- All told, newcomers contributed 62 of Maryland's 79 points in the season opener.
- The Terps also had 54 total rebounds which were the most since posting 63 against Clemson on March 2, 2014 - 35 of those rebounds came from newcomers.

Derik Queen posted the first 20 point/20 rebound double-double for Maryland since Joe Smith in 1995.
Juju Beast
- Julian Reese enters the 2024-25 campaign as one of the top post players in the Big Ten and nationally. Last season, he earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors as a junior after being named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team and to the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award Watch List.
- Reese posted 15 double doubles last season which were the ninth most nationally and stood second in the Big Ten during the regular season.
- Reese has 22 total double-doubles entering 2024-25.
- Dating back to 2010-11, Reese has the fourth-most double doubles for any Terp.

DeShawn Looking To Build OFf Freshman Year
- DeShawn Harris-Smith played in every game for Maryland last year as a true freshman with 30 starts. He was the program's top rookie scorer since the trio of Jalen Smith (11.7 ppg), Eric Ayala (8.6), and Aaron Wiggins (8.3) in 2018-19.
- Against Iowa, Harris-Smith became the second Maryland freshman in the last 15 years to record 15+ points and 5+ rebounds off the bench while shooting 70.0 percent or better from the field (Diamond Stone vs. Marshall in 2015-16).
- Harris-Smith played at least 20 minutes in all 33 games, tied for the second-longest streak by a Division I freshman this season (Drake's Kevin Overton – 33).
