Terps In The PLL: Week Two Recap

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The PLL took over Charlotte for the weekend for Carolina Chaos Homecoming and our ProTerps had another impressive weekend on the pitch.

Next up the league heads to Philadelphia for Waterdogs Homecoming.

Read on for a full rundown on the ProTerps' Week Two performances.

New York Atlas

The New York Atlas moved to 3-0 on the season, picking up a 15-12 win over the Chaos on ESPN2. 2023 graduate Brett Makar started close defense and picked up a groundball.

Boston Cannons

The Cannons picked up their first win of the season, beating the Whipsnakes 13-9 in the final game of the weekend. Boston's defense was phenomenal all game and two Terps played huge roles in it. Bryce Young had a caused turnover and three groundballs while Bubba Fairman was excellent at SSDM and even took a faceoff.

Denver outlaws

The Outlaws were the biggest story of the weekend as they came back from a 7-1 deficit to claim an 18-17 win over the Utah Archers in overtime. Luke Wierman was at the center of the comeback, as Denver outscored Utah 10-3 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Going up against one of the top faceoff men in the game in Mike Sisselberger, Wierman starred, winning 23 of 36 faceoffs with 11 groundballs. He also scored his first career goal at a pivotal time in the fourth quarter.

Captain Jesse Bernhardt scooped a groundball at close defense while Nick Grill saw a lot of minutes of LSM. Logan Wisnauskas missed the game due to injury.

California redwoods

Led by team captain SSDM Isaiah Davis-Allen, the Redwoods played their first game of the season, coming up just short in a 12-11 loss to Carolina. Davis-Allen had two groundballs.

Philadelphia Waterdogs

Ahead of their Homecoming next weekend where they will play two games, the Philadelphia Waterdogs did not play in Charlotte.

Maryland Whipsnakes

With an incredible 10 WhipTerps on the roster, several hardshells continued to play big roles. The Whipsnakes once again started an entirely Terp close defense of Matt Dunn (3 CT), Tim Muller (1 CT, 2 GB), and 2024 graduate Ajax Zappitello (2 GB). Colin Heacock scored his first goal as a Whipsnake while Matt Rambo tallied three points on two goals and an assist. Keegan Khan also tallied his first goal of the season. Jake Bernhardt and Roman Puglise both played a lot at SSDM once again, and though he didn't score, Mike Chanenchuk tallied a caused turnover and a groundball.
