
Scott and Young Close Out Summer League Action

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- With the NBA Summer League in the books, many players got their first NBA action of their careers. Donta Scott and Jahmir Young are among those players, with both playing significant roles for their respective teams. In this summer league update, we look at how each player has fared this summer.
Scott played in seven of the Warriors eight games in the summer league, playing in both the California Classic in Sacramento and the Las Vegas Summer League. Through seven games for Warriors in the NBA Summer League, Scott averaged 4.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.6 assists. Scott had one start this summer and averaged 15.4 minutes per game. In Scott's summer league debut back on July 6, he played 19 minutes off the bench scoring three points with seven rebounds and an assist in a 105-66 win over the Miami Heat. Scott made his lone start for the Warriors in a 92-82 win against the Chicago Bulls, scoring a summer league high 10 points of 50% shooting from the field and added a pair of rebounds and an assist. Scott picked up nine points and seven rebounds off the bench to help lead the Warriors to a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on July 14. In his summer league finale with the Warriors on July 21, Scott played 14 minutes off the bench scoring four points and pulled down four boards.
Young played in all five of the Nuggets games with one start in the Las Vegas Summer League. Through five games, Young is averaging 9.2 points with 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. Young has featured in every game for the Nuggets this summer, and averaged 17.8 minutes per game. Young made his summer league debut on July 12 against the Los Angeles Clippers, grabbing a pair of boards and dishing out two assists. Young came off the bench and played 13 minutes on July 16 against the Charlotte Hornets, scoring six points with three rebounds and three assists. Young came off the bench for the Nuggets on July 18 against Indiana, posting 26 minutes and 18 points while adding seven rebounds and two assists. Young got the start in the final game of the summer league for Denver, leading the team in minutes (32) and points (21) in a 91-82 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on July 21. In an exhibition game against the Chinese National Team, Young started the game and posted 11 points, four assists, and five rebounds. He played just under 31 minutes and went 5-of-7 from the floor while adding two steals.
