SPARKS, MD - The fourth year of the Athletes Unlimited Professional Women's Lacrosse League hosted the first six games of the 2024 season this past weekend. Eight former Terps competed during the first week of competition.
The second week of games begins on Thursday, July 25. Maryland has players on three different squads. Abby Bosco, Meghan Ball, Erica Evans and Marge Donovan will rep the gold uniforms for Team McCool. In orange will be Lizzie Colson and Emily Sterling for Team Read. Grace Griffin and Meg Douty will don purple as part of Team Apuzzo.

TEAM BOSCO (PURPLE)
Grace Griffin tallied 231 points in her first three games, including a season-high 115 points in game two. She added two goals and three ground balls to start her third season as a pro.
Megan Douty was a standout on defense earning the fifth highest point total for defenders. In her first three games, she owns 273 points, with two games over 100 points. Douty grabbed seven ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Abby Bosco, the reigning Defender of the Year, started the year with seven ground balls, three caused turnovers and four draw controls. She tallied 262 points in three games.

TEAM APUZZO (orange)
Lizzie Colson finished week one with 229 points. She grabbed five ground balls, including three in game one, and three draw controls. The three-year pro caused four turnovers in the first three contests.
Emily Sterling made her professional debut in goal. She made 10 saves in two games totaling 195 points.
Meghan Ball also made her debut as a rookie. In her first few games, she added seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. Ball added 210 points in her first week as a pro.
TEAM GLYNN (BLUE)
Erica Evans added three goals to kickoff her second year with Athletes Unlimited, including two goals in her second game. She finished the weekend with 170 points.
Marge Donovan returned for her second season as a pro. She tallied 159 points in her first three games as a defender.

TEAM MORENO (GOLD)
There were no former Maryland players on Team Moreno for week one.
