Terps In The PLL: Week Eight Recap

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Our Pro Terps returned to the home state for Maryland Whipsnakes Homecoming Weekend and put on a show, highlighted by a 2-0 weekend for the Whipsnakes and the many Terps on their roster. Additionally, Lee Zink was inducted into the Pro Lacrosse Hall of Fame as part of the weekend's festivities.


Next up the league heads to Denver for the Denver Outlaws Homecoming weekend.

New York Atlas 

The New York Atlas had a bye weekend and did not play any games. 

Boston Cannons

In a close loss to the Whipsnakes, Bubba Fairman and Bryce Young (2 GBs) both played solid defense. 

Denver outlaws

In a huge win over the California Redwoods, Luke Wierman won seven faceoffs, scooped six groundballs, and tallied a goal and an assist. Nick Grill and Alex Smith were both huge defensively in holding the Redwoods to just five goals.

Isaiah Davis-Allen returned to action, playing SSDM and taking five faceoffs. 

Philadelphia Waterdogs

Connor Kelly tallied three groundballs and 18 touches against the Whipsnakes this weekend. 

Maryland Whipsnakes 

The WhipTerps had a massive weekend, going 2-0 and clinching a playoff burst. Colin Heacock starred in his return to the home state, scoring three goals in the first game and adding another in the second. Matt Rambo was equally as impressive, scoring two goals in each game and Mike Chanenchuk also added a goal in each. Jack Koras played in the second game of the weekend and tallied his first career assist.

Defensively, the WhipTerps were just as exceptional, especially in the first game when they held the Waterdogs to just six goals. Matt Dunn tallied two caused turnovers and two groundballs over the weekend, Ajax Zappitello had two caused turnovers and a groundball, and Tim Muller scooped three groundballs. Koras caused a turnover and had three groundballs in his game while SSDM Roman Puglise had a goal, a groundball and a caused turnover. SSDM Jake Bernhardt was also great in the first game of the weekend.
