Greivis Vásquez To Host Special Screening Of New Documentary This Friday

Terp legend and Hall of Famer will share new documentary during free event this Friday at the Hoff Theatre

College Park, MD — The University of Maryland will host a special screening of the critically-acclaimed documentary All I Ever Wanted on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 6:00 PM in the Hoff Theater, located in the Stamp Student Union. This exclusive event will feature an appearance by the film's director, Carlos P. Beltran, and University of Maryland basketball legend Greivis Vásquez, followed by a Q&A session and a meet-and-greet with Vásquez.

All I Ever Wanted is a powerful documentary that chronicles a seven-year journey through the intensely competitive world of professional basketball. The film offers a rare and personal glimpse into the lives of NBA icons such as Kevin Durant, Kyle Lowry, and Manu Ginobili. At its core, the film tells the poignant story of Greivis Vásquez, a former star of Maryland Basketball and an accomplished NBA player, whose career was abruptly halted by a devastating injury.

This deeply moving documentary explores the emotional and physical toll of an athlete's career-ending injury and the challenges that follow—both on and off the court. Vásquez's journey is one of perseverance, resilience, and self-discovery, making this film a must-see for basketball fans and anyone who appreciates a story of human triumph over adversity.

The evening promises to be a unique opportunity for the University of Maryland community and the public to engage with Vásquez and Beltran. Attendees will have the chance to gain insight into the making of the documentary, hear personal stories from Vásquez's remarkable career, and ask questions during the interactive Q&A session. Following the screening, Vásquez will also be available for a brief meet and greet.

This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited, and an RSVP is required to attend.
