Indiana Outlasts No. 10 Maryland 2-1 In Terps’ First Shootout Of 2025

The Hoosiers found their first conference win of the season in College Park on Friday.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Hoosiers (6-7, 1-3 Big Ten) took Maryland to its first shootout of the 2025 season and outlasted the No. 10 Terps (8-5, 4-2 Big Ten) in four rounds to snag a 2-1 victory and earn their first conference win of the season on Friday.

A late Indiana goal erased a Maryland lead and a pair of shootout scores put a bow on the Hoosiers' upset win over the Terps as they beat Maryland for the first time in program history.

Maryland scored just 23 seconds into Friday's contest as Maci Bradford buried her fifth goal of the season on an assist from Jordyn Hollamon. The early goal gave Maryland a lead that would hold until the fourth quarter.  Indiana's scoring chances were few and far between as the Hoosiers were limited to a lone shot across the second and third quarters. Their best scoring chance didn't come until the 52nd minute, but Molly Stutte didn't miss it, tying the match at 1-1 in the closing minutes.

Alyssa Klebasko made a pair of crucial saves on an Indiana penalty corner in the final minute of regulation to send the contest to overtime. Ryleigh Osborne took over in net for the shootout, but the Hoosiers found two goals to end the match.
