WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Maryland Wrestling team (4–0) continued its unbeaten streak in the Capitol, defeating the American Eagles (2–4), 27–9.
At heavyweight, Oscar Williams opened the night for the Terps, falling in an 8–5 decision to Emmanuel Ulrich despite a strong late push. At 125, Abram Cline took the mat looking to even the team score against JJ Peace, but despite another late comeback effort, he dropped a 7–3 decision.
No. 10 Braxton Brown delivered a dominant performance at 133, pinning Max in 4:38 to tie the dual at 6–6, shifting the momentum the Terps' way. At 141, No. 27 Dario Lemus faced American's Colin Martin, taking an early lead and holding on for an 8–4 decision to give Maryland its first advantage of the night, 8–6.
At 149, Jackson Young extended the Terps' lead with a 9–5 decision over Leo Maestas. At 157, Mekhi Neal dropped a 7–3 decision to Cam Miheim, trimming Maryland's lead to 12–9.
At 165, AJ Rodrigues struck early and never trailed, defeating Austin Craft 4–2 to widen the margin. At 174, Dom Solis jumped out to a 6–2 lead after the first period against Hunter Hohman and cruised to a 14–4 major decision.
Closing things out at 184, Seth Digby earned his first collegiate dual win with a 4–1 sudden-victory decision over RJ Robinson. At 197, no.15 Branson John capped the night in dominant fashion, securing a 21–5 technical fall over Teage Calvin to lock in the 27–9 Maryland victory.
